After joining the Captain Cook Coffee Cruise at the centrally located Central Quay you will immediately sail past the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and the famous Sydney Opera House. What a fantastic sight they are. Get your cameras ready because the Opera House is photogenic from many different angles.
The cruise heads down the harbour and you will sail past the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Watch the joggers enjoying a run around the gardens. You will see the famous Mrs. Maquaries seat at this point. If you go to the back of the boat will you will get a great photo of the Opera House with the Bridge in the background.
As you travel down the harbour you will get a great view of the numerous beautiful bays, beaches, parks and many superb waterfront homes. The onboard commentary gives you plenty of information about this and the history of the harbour. One bay to watch out for is Watson's Bay. This bay houses the famous Doyle's seafood restaurant.
The Captain Cook Coffee Cruise then heads into the upper reaches of the harbour. The stunning homes seem to cascade down to the waterside in this area. At this point you will enjoy your coffee as the cruiser gently glides along.
The cruise returns back to Circular Quay on the other side of the harbour. Watch out for the animals at the Sydney Taronga Zoo. You will no doubt see the Giraffes and you can imagine what a great view they have over the city of Sydney. A prominent feature in the harbour is the Fort Dennison island fortress. This island housed a penal colony, for convicts, in the early days of settlement. At least the convicts had a great view!
Before returning back to Circular Quay the Coffee Cruise sails under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This affords you the joy of sailing under the bridge and gives you a different viewpoint of the Opera House being in the background.
